Farrago was written for Matt Meadows (SSGT with the U.S. Army Pershing's Own) and the University of Alabama Horn Octet for their performance at the Southeast Horn Workshop. My first serious work for French Horn, I decided to make the piece a "collage homage" to all the things I love most about the horn: epic film/game soundtrack moments, ripping DCI horn lines, and the many mesmerizing orchestral excerpts that show the French Horn's incredible versatility and melodic capabilities.


Thanks to Matt Meadows, Prof. Skip Snead, and all the amazing members of the UA Horn Octet for making this piece come to life (and doing it all so quickly!).
